Become a part of POINT 1 CHOIR and engage with people from all backgrounds who, like you, are passionate about being involved in the arts and could benefit from a training/performing musical opportunity.
Besides vocal technique (correct breathing and breath control, vocal projection, embeautyment of tone and many other aspects), the training includes principles of music theory through music reading, basic notions of French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese while singing in those languages, and the most fun of all, exposure to a variety of musical styles from baroque through modern pop and jazz.
Choral singing is an activity that merges the social and the artistic experience like no other, since it entails socializing through the liberating act of singing together. There are absolutely no financial requests involved with being a part of POINT 1 CHOIR... all you have to do is go to Contact Us and send us a home made video of you singing anything in tune for about 1 minute; we will not judge the quality of your singing other than your natural ability to carry a simple melody from 30 seconds to 1 minute. POINT 1 CHOIR will perform as often as possible and the money raised from it’s tickets sales will be applied towards supporting Lumen Philharmonia’s operational costs (things like our website, rehearsal space, music score, PR and marketing), so that Lumen can donate 100% of it’s ticket profits to St. Jude Hospital.
